Three ways to describe your waste
How quotes are compared
Price
Total price for the arrangement you asked for, plus a per-collection figure where the carrier provides one. Nothing is added to the price you see — the service is free to waste producers.
Proximity and CO2
Distance is measured from the carrier's depot to your site postcode. The emissions estimate applies a 1.25× road factor to that distance, doubles it for the return leg, multiplies by 0.85 kg CO2e per km for a rigid collection vehicle, and scales it by how often you need collecting. It is an indicative figure for comparison, not a reportable carbon account.
Recycling route
Carriers state the treatment route for every stream they quote. Each route sits on the waste hierarchy and scores accordingly, weighted by the volume of that stream.

Ratings and credentials
Ratings come from producers who awarded a job through the platform and marked it complete. Licence numbers and accreditations are shown on every quote and checked before a carrier is approved onto the panel.
Sponsored listings
Some carriers pay for prominence. Those listings are always labelled "Sponsored" and are never given a better price, distance or hierarchy score than they earned.
